Maketu Rotary Kaimoana Festival

The Bay of Plenty’s original seafood festival returns on Saturday 27 February from 12noon till 6pm for another fantastic culinary and cultural event in historical Maketu on a magical seaside venue. The event; a celebration of people, culture, entertainment, fine wines and food has continued to grow in popularity and is unique in its situation and cultural significance.

Visitors from outside the region experience an event which is a taste of real New Zealand supported by real New Zealanders working to support local community groups.

The festival will be opened at 12noon with a Maori Blessing and waiata performance by Maketu School Kapa Haka Group and continue with music, entertainment and cooking demonstrations until 6pm.
