Lovely eco friendly cottage located on the sunny side of the Bay of Many Coves. The bach is boat access only. We have sun from 10am in the morning until sunset, 7.30 in the summer, earlier in the winter. This keeps the cottage warm and dry. There is a mooring which will support a 20 foot boat and a dinghy available. We also have a new jetty.
The cottage has a wood burning cooker which heats the water, a gas fridge and stove, and a generator for lighting or you can use candles. There is a flush lavatory and original claw foot bath in the bathroom which is inside. The water supply is from rainwater.
We have our own resident weka, penguins which come to call and a variety of birdlife, some of which are tuis, bellbirds, quail, fantails, waxeyes, woodpigeons, finches, shags, seagulls, and sparrows. We are fairly secluded in our own little bay. The marine life is varied also. We see the occasional seal and dolphins to mention a couple, with numerous fish species. At the moment there is a ban on catching blue cod in the Bay which is possibly going to be lifted in April 2011.
There is a landline for local calls, and mobile phone coverage is available from the end of the jetty.
The Bay of Many Coves resort, a 5 star resort, is across the bay.
Boat access is available to the Queen Charlotte track via the Cougar or Beachcomber launches.
Longer term rentals can be negotiated.

A fantastic spot. We had a lovely calm family fortnight soaking up the views and birdsong. Beautiful outlook from main bedroom and living area, very easy to live in. Being off the grid and off the road added to the peacefulness. Surrounded by bush with tui, bellbirds and tame weka. Own beach 30 secs from bach ideal for swimming and jetty jumping. Owner bent over backwards to make sure everything went smoothly for us. Highly recommended.

The bach was great. Spectacular views. A big highlight is the abundance of native wildlife. Take warm clothes and blankets though- it can get a bit cold.

There is an open fire, and a wetback, and also there are plenty of blankets and duvets so I am not sure why you were cold............?
