There is a wood burner with a fire guard in the lounge & plenty of firewood. A heat exchange unit pumps warm air from the lounge into the bedrooms. A portable gas heater is also available.
All beds have duvets, pillows & blankets. There's a double garage for all your sports gear and the car. The pantry has basics for you to use but if you finish something, please replace it.
At the end of our short street & through Cherry Tree Reserve, you’ll find the mighty Tongariro River–a trout fisherman’s dream. There are walking tracks along the river. Mountain biking tracks start just across the footbridge. Guiding, rod hire, kayak/bike hire & rafting are available.
Around the corner is a big park with a playground, petaque pit & plenty of room to throw the footy.
A 40 minute drive & you’re in the Whakapapa ski fields.
Turangi is mountain biking central. There are too many to list but 42nd Traverse, Tree Trunk Gorge, W2K & Craters of the Moon are a start.
Turangi is only 5 minutes drive to the southern end of Lake Taupo. The boat ramps & picnic spots are great.
There are fantastic bush walks all around the area including the famous Tongariro Crossing. Lake Rotopounamu (Green stone lake) is a favorite.
Hot pools are a 5 minute drive away in Tokaanu & there is also a small ‘thermal’ walk there.
Turangi swimming pool is brand new & has 4 pools–Toddlers, Children, Lap and….BOMBING.
The Turangi Trout Hatchery is 5 minutes drive south of Turangi. It’s interesting and kids love it. Phone for the children’s fish out days.
Walk into town to the supermarket, cafes, pub, mini golf, indoor rock climbing and 2 small galleries.
Lastly, play golf on the scenic Turangi golf course.
Come and stay. You will have an awesome holiday.
