Thelma's Cottage is situated at Pakawau Beach on a section that straddles a small spit with the Pakawau Inlet on one side and the sea on the other. This romantic cottage has a roof-top deck with expansive views of the inlet and the surrounding bush-clad hills. One minute across the section and you are at the sandy beach on which you can walk for miles in the sunshine and take in the beauty of the beach and the many sea birds that make Golden Bay their home.

The cottage was built in 2005 and combines a simple, cottage design with modern flair. Huge windows and ranchsliders allow in all day sun to create an indoor/outdoor feeling.

The cottage is furnished exquisitely with old-world antiques. Sleep in an ornate bed that was hand-crafted in France in the 1700's.
Thelma's Cottage is the perfect hideaway where you can relax and feel your privacy is assured behind a tiled wall and gate.

Aproximately 2 km from the Pakawau camp ground and Pakawau tennis court. Across the road the School House Restaurant and Bar serves contemporary New Zealand cuisine.
