The Rotoaira Retreat is basic and comfortable retreat at the foot of Mt. Tongariro with stunning views across Lake Rotoira & Mt. Pihanga.

It really is an ideal venue for those that love to be outdoors, in a stunning setting, beside a World Heritage site.

But, if doing outdoor stuff really isnt your thing, the Retreat is a great venue to spend time cuddled up together in front of the log burner, looking across a beautiful vista.

If you have kids there is lots of room for them to play and explore - they will love it

If you have dogs, they're welcome too and theres even a secure dog run where you can leave them safely, from where they too can enjoy the views!

Despite tranquility and solitude, all that the area has to offer is within easy reach, for example:

It is less than 20 minutes to the carpark at Whakapapa, and 15 minutes to the Chateau and National Park.

The finish of the Tongariro Crossing (Ketetahi) is only 7 km's away.

Lake Rotoaira is less than a two minutes away - good fishing, swimming, kayaking and jet ski-ing here.

Fabulous fishing at Lake Otamangakau and Lake Rotopounamuare are only 10 minutes away.

Fishing, rafting and kayaking on the impressive Tongariro River are only 10 minutes away.

The start of the Tongariro Crossing is approx 20 km's away – the Tongariro Crossing tour buses drive past the Retreat, en-route there.

Turangi is less than a 15 minutes away and is handy for the lovely Golf Course, The National Bank, Cash Machines, Petrol Stations, Supermarket, Bakery, Liquor Store, Tokaanu hot pools and boat-ramp access to Lake Taupo

Service level

Linen: Linen supplied and included with rental.

Cleaning: Visitors to clean-up and leave the property as found.

Special conditions

Smoking allowed ouside only (there is a covered area).

Bedding and tea towels are provided - but you will need to provide your own towels.

Bach to be left clean and tidy (cleaning service available for $60 if required).

If more than 6 guests - an additional charge of $10 per person per night will apply. Additionally you will need to bring along your own bedding, for all additional guests.
