Welcome to Paradise...Pohutukawa Cottage on Idilic Kawau Island. A real Kiwi Bach.Leave the car behind and enjoy a total kiwi holiday. Fish off the private Wharf or bring the boat. Hang out on the beach all day in summer or cosy up in the lounge with the Woodburner ,enjoying the views in winter.
Swimming, bush walks, fishing, diving, visit the Historic Mansion House..never a dull moment here.
Two bedrooms on a fully fenced property, safe for the children.Suit couple or family as there are two bedrooms, one with bunks ( not shown in photo but will be added) and the other two King singles,( together or apart) (cot and highchair available too).
Also there are two bathrooms, each has a shower and toilet plus one has a bath.Very safe swimming beach.
To get to Kawau you have to park at Sandspit and catch either a water taxi or large ferry. You will be dropped off at your own private wharf. Its just a
2 minute walk to the house. Also there are no shops except The Yatch Club, it's a 20 min walk over hill or same around the rocks if tide out. They have some supplies and a pub ( great Kawau Burgers and chips!)You will need to bring your food, but you can also get orders over from Warkworth New World 3 times a week. Please bring own towels and Linen.
Everything else supplied.
We have 2 Childrens Kayaks for your use.

Kawau is Unique that there are no cars, you must park your car over at The Sandspit out of Warkworth and catch a Ferry over.There is a safe Council car park at the Spit. A timetable can be found online at Kawau Island Ferries. Request your stop at 'Mangans Wharf' in Stockyard Bay and walk up the path untill reaching Pohutukawa Cottage

Perfect location right on the water. Nice and relaxing. Easy to walk out and swim and to fish off the wharf.

Charming bach in a stunning and unique location. We had lovely walks to the yacht club and Camp Benzen, caught fish off our friends boat and relaxed playing cards, watching movies and looking at the stunning view.
