Riverlea Cottage has the the advantage of being only 3 hours from Auckland Manukau City. The closest Alpine town to Auckland. Available throughout the year.

This comfortable country style home with attractive decor is the ideal winter retreat and caters small or larger groups. Ideal for budget family ski holidays.

Riverlea has a relaxed cosy feel with a lovely warm ambiance. A place where you can lounge around in comfort if you want or get up and get into it. Also comes with two Gas heaters for instant heat and a Wood burner.

It is perfect for those who want all the comforts of home and their own privacy at a budget price. Ideal for a families or groups looking for a slice of rural kiwi life as the house is situated directly next to a farm like setting with open paddocks (a public reserve), Riverlea Cottage is also only 100 metres from the beautiful Wanganui River. The setting is extremely tranquil and peaceful. Typically the only thing you'll hear in the morning is the occasional warbling of magpies (birds).

Riverlea Cottage is close to all the facilities you need to relax, with supermarket, restaurants, movie theatre and more. Also included are a VCR, DVD player, Playstation and Board games for inside days. Dryer and washing machine are also available

The Supermarket in particular is a real plus as National Park only has a garage/convenience store. The lack of a decent supermarket has the tendency to make the cost of your holiday rocket as food and drink is very expensive on the mountain. National Park is 3.and a half to 4 hours drive from Manukau City Auckland and Ohakune is 4 and a half to 5 hours from Auckland.
