lakeside retreat nestled in native bush in secluded Otautu Bay, Lake
Rotoehu is sure to delight.
No two days are the same when you are waterfront!
Launch one of our four kayaks from the shore (or the jetty just to the right of the property), spend the day kayaking and catch a trout. On your return, smoke your catch on the well-lit covered deck or cook up a feast on the gourmet BBQ. Curl up on the sofa with a good book, listen to the beautiful birdlife across the lake and relax while you watch the last of the sun setting behind the hills. A five minute drive will see you sitting under the stars, soaking away your cares at the Waitangi Soda Springs. For those that can’t miss footy season, SKY TV is available along with a good selection of DVD’s for a rainy day.
Lake Rotoehu is excellent for all water sports including swimming, fishing, kayaking, waterskiing and boating. A boat ramp is located a short distance across the Bay. This central location is quiet and peaceful, yet great coffee and beautiful food are just minutes away at the Rotoma Café. The little general store caters to all your last minute needs, including fishing licences and a gas station. On your way into Rotorua (30 mins drive) and all its attractions, stop off at the Hinehopu Golf Course or Hell’s Gate. Or use this as your base to explore the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Great location right on the lake front. House very basic but comfortable for a short couple of days stay however the shower pressure was sadly a dribble so unable to wash our hair. Probably a better location in summer when you can use the deck as it felt a bit damp and musty when we arrived but there was good heating. The large BBQ - grill could do with a good clean. The local community were very friendly. Enjoyed doing the Hongi' walk and Soda Springs even with algae & no showers.
