  •  Fantastic location and spacious property. Very relaxing place to be. Downstairs bedroom is damp smelling, could be ok in summer.

    •  Yes the downstairs room doesn't get much sun and if no-one has stayed for awhile it does need to be aired out. There is a dehumidifier available plus doors and windows to open.

  •  The location and set-up of this property is amazing - the views are to die for!! Great location for a family group as we all had our own space - with ensuites! We would definitely return to this place we now call 'heaven'.

  •  The location was serene and the view spectacular. Lots of room for the children to explore. We bought our racquets for a family tennis comp, but sadly couldn't play as the grass was too long which was disappointing. Also agree with other comments that a bit of TLC is in order — was musty, dusty and full of cobwebs, but these were minor things which didn't really impact on our stay. Having a bbq on the deck with an afternoon drink and that view was pretty special. Thank you.

  •  Loved the location and the layout of the bach. It does need some TLC in general as others have mentioned on reviews but this would not put us off booking this bach again. Great views from the deck andl very well equipped with everything a family would need. A great bach!

  •  Fantastic views, excellent for children

  •  although the bach is getting a little tired the location and views make up for that - a great place to visit

  •  Rainbow Retreat met our expectations and more. Everything we needed during our stay was available. The beds were super comfortable, the house was warm and the view was priceless! Can't wait to repeat the Lake Tarawera experience again.

  •  Was a beautiful quite spot overlooking the lake. Nice house layout, good areas to accommodate our larger group. Great spot :)

  •  The house had a great view but was quite run down. We didn't want any guests to sleep in the downstairs room as it was very damp. The games room was great with an amazing fire and there was a lot of space for us to spread out. The boys enjoyed the badminton equipment although the $5 charge for each shuttlecock broken was very high given all of the shuttlecocks broke in the first 10 minutes of normal use. Also the tennis court is actually an area of grass which is quite uneven and unkept.

    •  The downstairs room is not used as frequently as the main house & may need airing on arrival and a dehumidifier is provided to assist. The tennis court’s evenness of bounce is perhaps not on par with Wimbledon & this is to be expected given the rather large volcano which can be seen from our amazing view. A fault here really is a fault! The court has a net and fencing. Shuttlecocks are expensive as we replace them often and continue to do this as guests never own up to breaking them, until now

  •  Pool table, big deck, views of the lake

  •  Good comfy batch, had a good weekend in this relaxing spot. Great views!

  •  In need of some TLC, a good airing out and a new sun umbrella. Great garden for kids to run wild and the view of the lake is amazing.

  •  Great spot, sadly up for sale

  •  Great views, activities, and space

  •  A great place for R&R ,We had a very enjoyable time. The weather was good which made it even better, will be back to stay again in the future.

  •  Fantastic view. Well equipped with plenty of firewood, DVDs, games, books and kitchenware. Lovely peaceful spot!

  •  Awesome bach, loads of room, two families would enjoy a stay with ease. Loads of things to do and the bar and pool table in the evening made "going out for a drink" easy! A great place to stay in an awesome spot, thanks.

  •  Awesome bach! Has everything you need, in a great location with a fantastic view. We had a fab holiday here - recommended to everyone!

  •  while the decor is nothing to write home about, for a group of people, this property is brilliant. With plenty to do inside and out, and plenty of room to do it in, our team of 7 had a great time. Not too far from town, and a beautiful drive to a home with a view. I'd recommend you take a second look if you need a good holiday home
