Former fishing lodge built circa 1940 regarded by some as the BEST HOLIDAY HOUSE IN NEW ZEALAND.
This property is better than most luxury lodges in New Zealand and at a fraction of what they charge.
Includes a private sandy beach, jetty for boats to park up, diving board and pontoon. Large lawn areas meticulously managed that look more like golf greens plus park like grounds with native birds in abundance. Plenty of room to land and park your helicopter.
Has 6 large bedrooms with beds for 15, 2 lounges, big kitchen, decks out to both sides of the peninsula, modern interior, cosy and comfortable furniture.
Large wood fire exists in lounge, heating in all rooms plus 8 seater Hot Spring spa to relax & unwind in. Sitting by the fire looking out on the lake in winter is breath taking.
Guest numbers greater than 15 can be accommodated with stretcher beds or by tenting on one of the lawns by negotiation.
Comes with super tramp, swing for the kids, canadian canoe, dinghy, fishing rods etc.
The property is typically used for weekend getaways and special family occasions. Fantastic spot for creating fond memories! Kids love the place.
Great to stay at in both summer and winter.

sitting in lounge auck airport so not a lot of time available as we are still doing a lot of travelling,but delighted to spend a few minutes saying just how much we loved the house /location/facilities,lived up to the billing and more.swimming from the private jetty every day,peacefull and idyllic,we will be back for sure.get gordon to take you watersking from the jetty,great value and fun

Black house is a gorgeous place to stay ! All of my family enjoyed our family gethering there, there are enough rooms and activities for kids, don't have to mention about the beautiful view! You would be surprised to see they also have piano and guitar!
