  •  The bach was lovely for our family of five - well set up, with a great kitchen garden. It's quite arty and stylish, gets great sun and is well appointed with everything you might need for a pleasant stay. Some people might be put off by the bach-like shower which is not tiled but has a concrete floor, but we thought it just added to the house's quaint overall charm. Akaroa is a superb destination and this house provides a great base from which to explore the village.

  •  Great location, very comfortable

  •  The Bach itself is a charming retro house in a lovely garden. However, the bunk room was another matter. It is the smallest bunk room I have ever seen, it would be unpleasant to try to get four adults in this room, I would even hesitate to have four children in the room. I don't think it is a house for eight people, four adults and maybe two children at the most.

    •  Grandads Bach is exactly that- a bach. The third bedroom is a bunk room- 2 sets of bunks, a sleeping room.

  •  Great quiet location, with gentle walk to main interest areas, plus bach facilities/ambience excellent

  •  What would there possibly be to complain about - open the car door - greeted by bird song, lush surroundings and a property that is both absolutely charming and stylish. We had a wonderfully relaxing and chilled weekend - great amenities and spaces for everyone and a calm and quiet setting. We appreciated and enjoyed being able to cook great meals. The hammock is great! Congrats on presenting this property so beautifully. We look forward to returning.

  •  Absolutely lovely bach. We stayed two nights with two small children over a weekend, it was quiet and relaxing.

  •  Lovely bach with great amenities. Comfy beds!!

  •  Beautiful well cared for bach, in a lovely setting backing onto the bush. Sat on the sunny north facing deck and drank wine, and then woke up to the sound of birds in the forest and the stream trickling away - just magic! Lovely linen on the king sized bed, great funky decor and loved the curtains :o) We'll definately be back and will be reccommending to all our friends and family. xxoo

  •  We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely bach.....very cute, homely and well presented, would defnitely like to visit again.

  •  Amazing place to stay, plenty of room, awesome rooms, bbq and kitchen facilities, we had a blast!!!

  •  Wonderfull bach had every thing we needed and more. Kids loved the big bean bags and the t.v short easy walk to town. Clean and tidy.

  •  Nice place, small but well equipped.

  •  What a fantastic tranquil holiday setting. Great to sit in the garden and hear the birds. Very comfortable beds and great kitchen with all you need. Location is great and handy for all Akaroa has to offer. This was our second time to stay here and will definitely come back!

  •  An absolutely lovely place to stay. I wanted to copy all the funky decorating and had a fabulous feel to it. Loved our time and could have stayed much longer. An easy walk to downtown akaroa and backyard setting so relaxing and tranquil.

  •  Lovely wee cottage to stay in. Great environment and well maintained and fitted out. We had a nice relaxing time! Owners great to deal with. We will definitly be staying there again :)

  •  The bach was very cute, although some comments suggested it is bigger than the pictures show, I found it OK in size but not that spacious. Lovely decor and nice and handy to the shops and township.

  •  Loved the old National Geographics and teh Linen smelt amazing

  •  Such a great location and has really good feel to it. Very relaxing with everything you need for a weekend away and so close to the village.

  •  We had a lovely 3 nights in this idyllic setting. The stream and bush over the back fence gave a rural feel despite being a short walk into town - done easily by a 4 and 2 year old without pram. The bach is stylishly updated, if basically set up (no microwave, fuzzy TV - easy to survive without). A thoroughly relaxing start to a great holiday. We would happily return again when the kids are older to go swimming with the doplhins.

  •  Really lovely bach! Could have stayed there longer. Quiet setting, lovely garden and comfy hammock! Bathroom is very basic though.

  •  Well appointed bach, good location, lovely setting.

  •  A beautiful relaxing bach amongst the native birdsong of Akaroa. Lovingly restored, 50's character with modern luxuries. We will be coming back! Thanks so much for the hassle free holiday

  •  The bach was perfect with an amazing warm and freindly feel. I loved the squashy sofa's and the bedspace. Awesome garden and deck. I could have sat for hours there. So want to come back again. Thanks for having me. Lov Ria

  •  Lovely place, private, quiet, walking distance to everything in Akaroa, excellent beds, well stocked 'cooking' kitchen. Backs onto bush and stream with beautiful garden stocked with fresh herbs and even a hammock under the trees! Bliss! This place is something special.

  •  We loved this Bach! The property has a fabulous homely & comfortable feel about it with stylish decor touches throughout. The two decks are well sighted for morning & evening sunshine, lawn enough for the kids, and the hammock makes for a pleasant afternoon interlude. I have rented many baches in Akaroa & can honesty say this is one of the best! We will definitely be back as soon as we can. Thank you to both of you for sharing your magic 'Grandads Bach' with others.
