This 27 acre property is a peaceful haven "away from it all" in a valley of native bush and well landscaped open areas. The lodge and cabins operate as a hostel throughout the year but can be block booked through bookabach exclusively for your family holiday, group or event.
Key features: Large open lounge area ideal for group workshops, teaching, yoga, seminars etc Inside and outside dining for 16 with large kitchen facility Onsite manager to assist with booking local activities and useful information.
10 minute drive to Matauri Bay - Diving, fishing, surfing and kayaking
20 minute drive to Kerikeri - Shopping, cafes, galleries, farmers market and wineries
20 minute drive to Whangaroa Harbour - Fishing charters, kayaking, harbour cruises &walking
At the bottom of the valley, (totally separate to the lodge), there is an awesome little campground open to the public. This is accessible for you by road and bush track with free extra facilities for you to enjoy. These include: Large camp fire circle with log seating
Fire heated hot tub under pongas and stars
Decked picnic area next to a spring water swim hole
River with plenty of shade and rocks to sit on
Special conservation area / Kiwi zone with mature native trees and abundant birdlife
N.B If you book out The Welcome Swallow accommodation with Bookabach you will have the cabins and lodge to yourselves. The flip side of this is that if there are any other bookings (Even for a single bed) we take The Welcome Swallow off Bookabach for that date. So if the dates you want to stay appear to already be booked please check the booking calender on The Welcome Swallow website for availability of individual rooms &beds as many may still be available for you &your group. If you haven't booked the place out with Bookabach you will not have the place to yourselves.
Although we do provide hand towels, tea towels, cloths, bath mats, sheets, duvets and pillows we do not provide large towels.
Price & availability
Contact details will be provided by Bookabach once you've made a booking request.
Special conditions: A deposit of 50% (of the full price) is required 48 hours after your booking has been accepted. We will make email contact with deposit details. This must be done in order to confirm your booking otherwise we will contact the next in line and you will lose your booking. We cannot hold bookings in pencil for more than 48 hours. The remaining 50% is payable on arrival by cash or credit card.,
