Jobs at Bookabach
Bookabach has been helping Kiwi's escape to the bach since 2000. Now part of the NZ Automobile Association, Bookabach is in the top-5 of most visited travel accommodation websites in New Zealand (Hitwise) and sports a large and loyal following amongst bach owners and holidaymakers alike. As we grow we're continually on the look-out for talented people to join or team. At the moment we're looking for:
Web developers (ColdFusion, jQuery, Ajax, CSS)
We're looking for talented developers! If you're passionate about web-app development, user experience and ideas around social media then here's an opportunity to join the team behind www.bookabach.co.nz - one of New Zealand's most popular travel websites.
- Web-app development in travel/property management
- Short/medium term contract
- Immediate start
While we already provide a good online tool set for property management, we know there's plenty of scope to take things much, much further. So, we're looking to add experienced developers to our team. Our ideal applicant will be a web developer with 3-5 years of solid experience with a variety of web technologies (see must haves below). Our environment is based on the latest Adobe technologies - object oriented ColdFusion (CF9 with ColdBox framework and ORM) on MS-SQL and under Windows. While we don't expert you to be an expert in this, we do need you to know something about ColdFusion, and most importantly, have a desire to learn.
You will have practical ability and creative flair, revelling in both how things work "under the hood" and what they look like from the outside (the user experience).
Must haves:
- A good spirit, a sense of humour, and a team player
- A solid understanding of web based technologies with 3-5 years development experience with ideally a variety of web technologies
- Some experience with ColdFusion (object oriented)
- Strong front-end development experience - HTML, CSS, Javascript (ideally jQuery) and Ajax experience. Must be capable of taking a finished design and implementing complete look-and-feel using interactivity norms/standards
- Experience understanding user requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to haves:
- Experience with MVC style architectures
- Experience in agile development methodologies and working in an agile team.
- Experience with design/implementation of object oriented software ideally with modelling (UML)
- Database design/modelling experience (MS-SQL or MySQL)
- Experience in other web development languages (PHP, ASP, Perl etc.)
- Experience with Photoshop and/or Fireworks
- Experience with other Adobe technologies including Flash, Air, Flex etc.
If this sounds like you then send you CV to jobs@bookabach.co.nz. All candidates must hold New Zealand or Australian residency. NO AGENCIES PLEASE.
