Cottage | Tryphena | #10670
Kereru Cottage close to Kaka Cottage has great views over Pah Beach towards the wharf, a 5 -10 min walk to Tryphena's great amenities of Pah Beach and Gooseberry Flat for safe family swimming, the well stocked Stonewall supermarket, the post office and gift shop, Wild Rose Cafe and the Currach Irish Pub .
It is a comfortable, low key timber house great for relaxing with a good book , playing board games with the kids or even snoozing in the sun !!
It relies on 12 volt solar power for the lighting and gas for water heating and cooking and a 240v fridge/freezer.
Aptly named after the native wood pidgeon(the Kereru) that is frequently seen in the bush close by.
Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;
1 x Queen bed
1 x Double bed
2 x Fold-out sofa bed

Fantastic spot - very handy to Tryphena but still out of the way and close enough to East coast for surf beach swimming to feel like a minor trip (in the car) too. Walking distance to pub - which proved helpful. Very well set up house - a pleasure to just lie around in when the rain came - wish we'd done more of that. Hardly noticed the other occupied cottage on the site. 4.5 stars really. Thanks Janet, we'll be back if you'll have us!
Beautiful location surrounded by bush and with a peep of the Tryphena Harbour. A steep path but comfortable and clean house with quality linen, modern fridge and stove and all you need for a comfortable stay. Some challenges with the lights due to 12 volt solar power as the week progressed and less fine weather. But hey, it’s the Barrier, you have to expect a few solar power challenges!
