Kereru Cottage close to Kaka Cottage has great views over Pah Beach towards the wharf, a 5 -10 min walk to Tryphena's great amenities of Pah Beach and Gooseberry Flat for safe family swimming, the well stocked Stonewall supermarket, the post office and gift shop, Wild Rose Cafe and the Currach Irish Pub .

It is a comfortable, low key timber house great for relaxing with a good book , playing board games with the kids or even snoozing in the sun !!

It relies on 12 volt solar power for the lighting and gas for water heating and cooking and a 240v fridge/freezer.

Aptly named after the native wood pidgeon(the Kereru) that is frequently seen in the bush close by.

Beautiful location surrounded by bush and with a peep of the Tryphena Harbour. A steep path but comfortable and clean house with quality linen, modern fridge and stove and all you need for a comfortable stay. Some challenges with the lights due to 12 volt solar power as the week progressed and less fine weather. But hey, it’s the Barrier, you have to expect a few solar power challenges!

  • Great spot tucked away in the bush

Great spot tucked away in the bush. Just a short walk to harbour beaches & shops or a short drive to surf. Great little house, very comfortable, with every thing we needed.

We all liked the location - very peaceful and private, and close to the village - lovely coffee shop. The island is a dream for hikers and swimming. Thank you

The property is in a great location with great view from the living room. Accommodation clean and well stocked with crockery/pans/cutlery etc. Only a short stroll to local eateries. Social Club 5 minutes walk, Irish Bar, local grocery store, post shop only 10 minutes walk. For someone with walking difficulties the path to the bach could be a little steep - fine for us though. Definitely recommend to others. Would stay here again when we return to the Great Barrier. Thanks Janet
