Description

  • we accept dogs, including inside dogs, at our crib
  • we keep a variety of mountain bikes on site for your use

Our Bach is a charming, well-built home with three bedrooms, (one with a queen-sized bed, a second bedroom with a single bed and a third bedroom with a set of bunks). The bach sits on a large section which means day time fun without leaving the section, if desired. The kitchen includes a full-sized stove, microwave, family size fridge/freezer and washing machine; dining table with seating for 4; all pots, pans etc are there, ready for use. A huge new log-burner keeps you warm and there are plenty of pine cones collected on our walks but we do provide a little firewood. The end of the dining area doubles as a small lounge with couch and chairs for enjoying the fire.

There is a further separate lounge with french doors opening onto a front porch. A small bathroom has a toilet, basin and mains pressure shower (gas heated). The bach provides a comfortable base from which to enjoy the many wonders of Naseby.

If you don't know what Naseby has to offer, here are just a few: Naseby has the only Southern luge. Ice skating outdoors (in winter) or at the indoor rink; extensive walking tracks. The "rail trail" passes near Naseby and there is a golf course and tennis courts. Summer opens up the local swimming holes, some of which include fly-fishing and are suitable for swimming or kayaking. Ranfurly is just ten minutes away by car and both Naseby and Ranfurly have hotels; cafes and stores so shopping for food etc is just a cycle or car ride away. The local pubs offer great personalities and a cold beer or hot meal, as required. The whole area is very child-friendly and you can often see entire families cycling past or carrying their lilos up to the swimming dam for a day in the sun. It's a peaceful, safe place to stay. Stays at our place start at $220 for two nights and $110 per night after that.

Special conditions: just return it to us the way you found it. if you're feeling really energetic, get the shed key out and mow the lawn for us. Make sure the bikes are left safe back on the porch or locked in the shed. If you break something or find something broken please let us know. We allow dogs but pick up after your pooch, please.

Used as a base for the Rail Trail. Day tripped to rugby in Dunedin. Comfortable and warm (after a wet, cold day on the trail!) Would like to visit in the summer months.
