Hard to be positive about the place when we turned up and the oven didn't work causing considerable extra cost to our weekend, wasted food and inconvenience with young 4 kids. There is nowhere in Owhanga to get food meaning the only option was to drive to the next town 15min away. House could do with a good clean but was warm enough with the fire going despite being cold outside.
A lovely, comfortable house in a peaceful location. It was easy to warm the house despite the freezing temperatures. The fire wood was good but the chunks were huge and it was a bit hard to chop it up. The village is pleasant to walk around in the afternoon and it is a short drive from Whakapapa village.
