Bach or holiday home | Matarangi Beach | #12014
A typical kiwi bach situated directly across the road from the white sandy beach of this idyllic little bay, that contains around 20 houses, and is located between Kuaotunu and Matarangi beaches. Sleeps up to 8.
The 2-bedroom bach has been recently renovated and is in excellent condition. It has painted concrete floors with a ranchslider leading out onto a deck and then to the very large open lawn (with a hedge at the front screening the small by-road that runs in front of the beach). This road is very safe with very few cars. The section is unfenced between the neighbouring properties and this area is nicknamed by their Owners as “Tent Town” where they and their families camp during part of the summer. It's HUGE - and perfect for backyard cricket or even a game of rugby!
There are new beds in both bedrooms (including a pocket spring Queen size in each!). A spare mattress is stored under one of the beds for an additional guest. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area includes a 3-seater and 2-seater couch, 2x armchairs, coffee table and a bookcase with a selection of books, magazines and games.
There is an impressive 6 speaker surround sound CD and Ipod stereo, including subwoofer, so you can enjoy your music. There is no TV so you may wish to bring your own, although the reception in this area is very poor. There is a modern 6 seat dining suite for family meals.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a standard oven/stove, full sized fridge/freezer plus a smaller drinks fridge, microwave, electric frypan, toaster, electric jug and plenty of crockery, glassware, pots and pans etc.
The beach is a surf beach (east coast, north facing) and depending on the swell can get very good waves at and around low tide. At high tide, the waves break on the shore and is suitable for skim boarding on the sand, or swimming if you prefer no waves.
There is good fishing from the rocks...

I love staying at this property, its not the first time. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the real bach feeling. Its is the most beautiful beach and area to stay. Has lovely walks, and if you wish to go to Whitianga or Coromandel town its only 20 minutes away. Love the local café and Lukes Kitchen at Kuaotunu where there is beautiful fresh and tasty food.
The bach is very nice and neat, quite spacious and good enough for the extended family (we've visited with our kids and my parents). Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need. But the best feature is the location - breathtaking spectacular beach just across the road (literally 20 steps from the front door of the Bach). Crystal clear water, beautiful whit diving from shore option on high tide and great bodyboarding fun on low tide. The best place we've been in NZ by now
Location was perfect. Nice safe beach to swim, beautiful clear sand for playing in and so close. Even a quiet road so our 9yr old could ride his bike. Heaps of beds and everything you could need in the kitchen, even games to play and lots of books that we read heaps of. A good simple kiwi batch, will definitely consider returning next year.
