Ok so to be honest I am a reluctant renter as I use my house a lot.
I especially use the house skiing weekends in winter and also mountainbiking in summer! So please understand if i say no to your request.
I request people respect my house and leave it as they find it.
If you do want to rent it then I will give preference to mid week and multiple day rentals.
If you are a younger group then I need to be convinced this will not be party central with the resulting damage.
If you are Australian I need to know you know how to read instructions on water systems and light a woodburner without setting the carpet on fire.
If you have very young kids you need to ensure they wont fall down the stairs!

Fantastic area for skiing at Craigieburn, Broken River, Cheeseman or Porters in the winter.
Summer boating and fishing on Lake Lyndon - 10 mins drive away, fishing in the numerous streams and rivers, or on Lake Pearson. Arthurs Pass only 30 mins drive away with the numerous walks and hikes in the national park available from there.
Unbelievably good mountain biking with a track that climbs out of the village up onto Long Spur that links to the Hogs Back and onto the new Dracaphyllum flat track near the Cheeseman Rd. World class beech forest riding in the Craigieburn and Broken River area, all within a few minutes drive.
Cave Stream only 5 minutes down the road, explore underground and do the 'right of passage' trip through the cave.
World class bouldering at the nearby The Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti limestone rock formations.

Nice home in a beautiful location in Castle Hill Village. First floor sitting room was spacious and had plenty of facilities with log burner and plenty of self catering facilities. Does, however, need a good clean to justify the price. There was also a hole in the ceiling lining in one of the double bedrooms that we were not made aware of due to what is a leaky pipe and dirty linen had not been removed from beds by previous occupant. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would consider again
Hmmm... reads like a restaurant review! Considering it was mopped and vacuummed a day or so before hand I struggle with the 'needs a clean' call. But if you don't have any elusive dust weevils lurking then good for you. The ceiling was a result of ruptured a/c drain that is EQ damage and waiting for assessment by EQC. It was damage missed when house was repaired first time round. Should have mentioned it, my bad. #localproblems.
Great location in Castle Hill Village. Lots of great walking / MTB-ing tracks near by and close to Castle hill bouldering and ski fields. The log fire was great at keeping the living areas toasty warm on frosty days. The kitchen was well equipped and nice to have underfloor heating in the bathroom.
