Guided or self guided walks are available which include access to the crown of a Kauri tree via a swing bridge.

Special location being based in the Sanctury and we loved all the bird-life. The view is fabulous, we caught snapper off the wharf, there's lots of great walks and endless things to do as well as all the peace & tranquility you'd expect. It was a perfect holiday and location and we loved the cottage.

  • This is a very special place to stay

This is a very special place to stay. The most beautiful gardens and spectacular bird life due to the diligence of Scott and Emma who maintain the property and the surrounding native bush that is enclosed by a predator proof fence. The views are just the best nestled in the Fitzroy Inlet. And a jetty and mooring for boats. Just the best.

  • Another amazing holiday in this slice of paradise

Another amazing holiday in this slice of paradise. However long we've stayed is never enough. So many wonderful things to do and see, both at the Sanctuary and on GBI in general. The managers and volunteers at Glenfern are always polite and helpful, without ever being intrusive, and clearly delight in answering questions, both about the Sanctuary and its avian residents, and GBI in general. Staying here is always a joyful experience marred only by having to leave when the time is up!
