Take the time to heal yourself at New Zealand's unique healing hot pools (Ngawha Hot Springs) and mineral spa (Ngawha Spa), which are only a short stroll away from Ngawha Retreat and usually are open for public the whole year around.
Enjoy the spectacular views over Opononi, or see the mighty Tane Manuta - 2000 years old Kauri tree in the Waipoua Forest on the North Island's West Coast. Drive the other way, and have a fancy breakfast at Paihia - which is also only half an hour away. See the dolphins or visit the historic Kerikeri,- all before coming back to Ngawha Retreat in the evening and relaxing in healing clay waters of hot pools.
Ngawha Retreat is ideal for the curious traveller as the central base in the Far North for a short stay, just as it is perfectly suited to a group who wishes to undergo a healing course at the local hot pools over a couple of weeks. The Twin Coast Discovery route and the New Zealand Cycle Trail are also very close by.

Our group of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we knew one of the bedrooms was going to be small, but this wasn't an issue and the kitchen, dining and lounge areas - plus the deck out the back - were spacious and great to relax, chat and chill out in. Good facilities in the house, dishwasher a bonus for sure, and Yuri was excellent to deal with, providing excellent information about the house and surrounding area. We enjoyed the local pizza and Thai takeaways from Kaikohe - delicious!
We thoroughly enjoy ngawha retreat, having stayed here more than once.So peaceful and comfortable and with the springs only two minutes walk away, the perfect environment to come back to after a soak. The house has all the amenities you need to just relax and unwind.Yuri is very accommodating and helpful. We would recommend this retreat to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet and a relaxed atmosphere.we love it here. nga mihi Shannon and Tasha.
