  • We have stayed there before and enjoyed the peaceful ambience

We have stayed there before and enjoyed the peaceful ambience. Basically one big pleasant room, kitchen is good, bathroom right next to it (bit close but no other option.) The lovely garden and easy walk to the beach make it a nice location.

  • Korari Retreat is a great escape, quiet, secluded but close to everything

Korari Retreat is a great escape, quiet, secluded but close to everything. We spent Labour weekend in Omapere, just chilling. We enjoyed local hospitality and friendship at the Opononi pub. Our low key stay included walking, beachcombing and fishing. A drive to Rawene to meet up with old work mates and purchase great local products, Manuka honey, local pork and heritage tomatoes and seed. Great weekend. We recommend driving SH16 and call in at Waipoua Forest and Dargaville museum and kumara.

  • We loved staying at Korari Retreat and wished we could stay longer

We loved staying at Korari Retreat and wished we could stay longer. It is beautiful both inside and out, with attractive furnishings, a lovely patio and views of an interesting tropical garden. I'd never seen banana flowers before! The kitchen, bath and all appointments were also very functional - we cooked some tasty breakfasts here.

  • This is an adorable little bach: comfy, clean and tranquil

This is an adorable little bach: comfy, clean and tranquil. I needed to get away from Auckland for the week-end to get myself in a different frame of mind for a new work project. Just what I needed. Thanks!

    Owner/manager responds:

it is dissapointing that you made such a general statement about the studio. I do spend several hours after each guest cleaning all surfaces and doing the changeover for the next visitors. Over my 62 ratings guests often comment on it being clean, comfortable and having everything they need, as in my most recent review after yours. At this time of the year I usually do a spring clean for the next season and will be repainting, water blasting and upgrading where needed.
