Description

Lockwood holiday home on a sheltered lake edge section in Boatshed Bay. Furnished with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area and a gas fireplace for winter. Boardwalk and steps lead down through bush and tree ferns to a shared deep water jetty. The deck, equipped with outdoor furniture and a gas barbeque, provides stunning views across the lake to Mt Tarawera and Kariri Point. The carport at the rear of the bach provides cover for two vehicles.

Native birdlife abounds, a family of quails occasionally meander over the lawn and glow worms can be seen at the bottom of the steps in the evening. The site is private and peaceful and allows for full enjoyment of all that Lake Tarawera has to offer including safe swimming, lakeside walking tracks, trout fishing, boating, mountain biking or just relaxing.

Situated near the start of the Tarawera settlement it is only a scenic 20 minute drive from Rotorua city centre and a short drive to the local lakeside cafe and the Buried Village at Te Wairoa. The nearest boat ramp is a couple of minutes drive along the road or a five minute walk along the lake front track.

Tui Glen is a great place to escape to at any time of the year and is ideal for couples or small families.

  • Beautiful setting, very tranquil and private access to lake front

Beautiful setting, very tranquil and private access to lake front. Front view from deck of native forest flora and fauna. Amazing picturesque views of the lake and mountains. Accommodation and amenities available were perfect. Rubbish collection and linen an added plus. TV and Telephone access, a must visit and hopefully I will return. My guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Was great that there was no Wifi and mobile access as we talked more. The vase of flowers left were special touch.

What a wonderful magical place to spend our honeymoon! The views were amazing and it was so good to be "off the grid" it really made for an unforgettable holiday at the Lake! We got married at Stoney Point and getting ready with the amazing view from Tui Glen was awesome. The Tui's and birds and the quiet serenity really set the scene and we absolutely loved the glow worms at night and the track to your private jetty was really cool. Thanks so much for having us!

The property is situated in the most beautiful spot with wonderful views of the lake. The house is very clean, fully equipped for our stay. We were grateful to get away and go "off grid" for 3 days (theres no reception or wifi). Rotorua is close enough to drive to - about 20mins and the Landing Cafe down the road does lovely hot chocolates. We enjoyed it very much and hope to be back again. Thank you Carol and Neville for sharing your piece of paradise in NZ with us.

  • Loved our stay in Lake Tarawera

Loved our stay in Lake Tarawera. The lake house is clean and tidy. While it is a small place, the fireplace made it cosy and warm during a pretty cold month. It has great views of the lake and is nice and quiet. We took full advantage of the track down to the lake and enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the water. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful place.
