Very nice property. Fire going and place was lovely and warm when we arrived. Handy location to town and straight up the road to the mountain. Stairs to loft are vertical and a little hard to get up and down, our kids managed fine (6 & 8 yrs) but wouldn’t be any good for younger kids or anyone too big. Great place with really good amenities, clean and tidy and a lovely view of the mountain.,
The cabin described on the website is a little deceiving and a lot smaller than we thought it would be, although it is beautifully built and very cute! However not as private as described, the kitchen window looks right at another house and there is another house right at the front door. Some small things that were a little frustrating, there was only 1 face cloth supplied for 4 guests, also no hand soap. Also the fire was a mission to light with no kindling and the loft way too hot to sleep in!
The log cabin is a beautiful little house in Ohakune. All home comforts have been thought of and included. We did find the fire in the lounge made the upstairs room very hot and therefore not the easiest to sleep in. Great location for the Mt Ruapehu and all it has to offer.
