Bach or holiday home | Te Awanga | #17711
The historic Clearview Homestead began life as a tobacco drying shed before becoming the family home of the Vidal family, circa 1915 as they established grapevines on this ‘No2’ vineyard. Nestled behind the hedge above the winery, the fully renovated rustic Homestead has become a sprawling family accommodation full of character and atmosphere. With an entertainer’s kitchen opening onto the dining, living rooms and deck, the gardens are private and sunny – also suited to smaller weddings and gatherings. With two bathrooms, two queen, two double and one twin single bedroom, the house suits varied groups, sleeping ten people easily. The smaller rear two bedroom rimu-lined ‘Shearer’s Quarters’ can be rented and secured separately. Enjoy a glass of Estate Chardonnay on the sunset deck in summer, or relax inside warmed in winter with a huge logfire, enjoying a book with a glass of Clearview Estate full bodied red wine.

We arrived late. No milk. Portacot did not stay up. Went to put my other grandson to bed and there was mouse poo in the bed!!! The manager did come up and was very apologetic but by then the children had gone to bed in their parents bed. It was disgusting! I realise this is a farm house but it is very tired and unloved. There were mice running around in the roof all night and cobwebs everywhere. The bath tub was so chipped we hated putting the children in it for a bath. I hate giving negative reviews but I cannot honestly say that I would recommend this property to anyone. The other beds we comfortable and the sheets clean and crisp. The manager was very pleasantl and as I said apologetic. He did give us some wine and a platter to compensate. If it had been a budget price I wouldn’t be as upset but it was a decent amount.
Great comfortable place for our group of 10, everything you need, and bonus of being 50m away from clearview winery!
Great location, out the back of Clearview winery. Next door to Te Awanga estate which is worthwhile visiting for wine tasting, food and a picnic under the trees. Also right across from Te Awanga beach which is an off-leash exercise area for dogs.
Very helpful friendly people who helped us with everything Price really reasonable as some nights we had only 4 people and 1 night maximum capacity
Book securely in just two minutes
