Five couples of our family meet every year . We are all in our 70s and take turns to organise the venue, food, and accommodation . Because I wanted to show them the Pureora Forest we chose The Rose Cottage as a central point. We were fortunate to catch up with the owners Kim and Dan beforehand and they were happy for our 5th couple to park their campervan on the lawn. Our first stop was Daphne's Museum. She does a great job. Followed by a trip towards Tokoroa overlooking Mangakino and showing all the Dairy Conversion from Forestry as 3 of our couples were dairy farmers. We did a trip to friends farm at Arapuni , including the fabulous Arapuni swingbridge, and a look at Bulmer's Landing and Arapuni Landing (lovely Camping spots). We called into Arohena Campground (huge camping area) on the way back . Our trip to Pureora was right up with expectations. Pa Harakeke was well worth a visit . The totara Walk (20 mins) was the best bush we have ever seen. We had a picnic lunch in the sheltered
