  • Cozy solar powered home - Lots of character and charm.

Located in the tranquil Awana valley only a 1 minute hop to the glorious beach. A comfy beach house with 3 easy care bedrooms an open plan kitchen with dining and living areas with views out over the Awana valley.

Great outdoor living areas around the property with a flat north facing lawn ,lush native gardens that provide birdlife and valley views.

Native plants grace the gardens which teem with native birdlife - tuis, kakas, wood pigeon, rails all abound in and around the flax, pohutakawa and puka.

Located right across the road from Awana beach, the location is private and secluded, yet close to the beach and the estuary.Together with a 5 minute walk to adjacent shady Pohutakawa Beach.

As Awana is located in the middle of Great Barrier Island there is easy access by car to Claris, Harataonga Beach, Windy Canyon Walk and the stunning Tramline Track 'Waterfall' Walk.

Great surfing, swimming, fishing, walking just minutes away. Awana is a regular destination for dolphin pods, Orca and migrating whales.

After dark expect to see amazing starry skies.

The spectacular night sky on Barrier has led to the Island being given Dark Sky Sanctuary status due to the outstanding night skyscapes. It is the FIRST Island in the world to recieve this status (due to minimal if any light pollution 2016/17 Council Report).

We sent a week on Great Barrier and had a fantastic time. Awana is centrally located and allowed us to easily day trip around the island. The property was spacious and comfortable and just beside the beach. Brilliant kiwi summer holiday!

Such an amazing place to stay! We couldn't have chosen a better spot! 2 second walk to the beautiful Awana beach, where there is excellent surf and some great diving spots. The house was amazing, we loved the old outdoor stove and the records. Would definitely stay here again.

Great funky bach. Big living area that was just great for a family. Close to a lovely beach. Slighlty disappointed that there was no view.
