Bach or holiday home | Raetihi | #20183
Built in 1963, we have taken a run down and badly maintained 50+ year old lady and given her a major face lift. TradeMe has been scoured for authentic 1960's sofas, dining table, velvet paintings, even cutlery and crockery to provide a complete feel.
Added to that we've installed a full bathroom complete with bath and shower and a kitchen with dishwasher to make life as easy as possible during your stay.
We think we've done a great job and we'll do more later, but for now, come and take a look at a what's now a gracious lady with many more years to come.
We've added a deck (straight off the kitchen/dining room) with the option to step straight into the spa pool from it. The 'vintage' spa pool is gas heated (we supply the gas bottle) and sits with a view of the mountain - so settle back and watch the groomers headlights move across the Turoa slopes in the evening while you soak away the aches from the days activity.
Since buying the house we've discovered that the region is a year round option, spending a lot of time there over summer but of course the winter season is when most people turn their mind to the area.
There are walks and hikes on and around Mt Ruapehu, the most famous being the Tongariro Crossing (Dempsey's Shuttles will take you from RaetihiRetro to the start point and bring you home later win the day for $45 round trip) and there are many other short walks, or longer hikes in the area.
And now, we have updated the TV to a 'smart' model and there is now Wi-Fi in place - your call as to if you use it or not but the code will be provided if required

This was the cosiest, cutest little place to stay for our short break. Incredibly great value for money, the owners have really thought through all the little details of what you'll need during your stay. Warm and inviting the house gets the afternoon and evening sun in the lounge to help warm it up while your out. The fire place is awesome, the rooms are also warm and decent sizes. Kitchen is decked out with all you'd need. Then there is the spa. SO GOOD. We were sorry to have to leave. THANKS!
