  • The house had plenty of living area, an excellent deck with BBQ...

The house had plenty of living area, an excellent deck with BBQ and a fantastic view. A pleasant stroll down to the town centre (5-10mins). Beds were very comfortable. Would stay there again although the driveway is a little tricky (could do with widening the entry area). My family enjoyed our stay.

  • Lovely house brilliant views and very well equipped

Lovely house brilliant views and very well equipped. Someone else had criticised house for too many family photos, we disagree, they were appropriate and not OTT. Our concern was water: the first night the water was cold and we couldn't shower. (Next 2 nights it was a Chch city council issue and apparently common for Akaroa). So if you want to be on the hill with great views then you may have a compromise. Was not a reflection on this particular property, neighbours also had no water.

    Owner/manager responds:

We had trouble last weekend, and contacted CCC and they found that Contractors had left a valve in wrong position, all working well now with plenty of water. Thanks for your kind comments, Owners

  • Beautiful house, well equiped but needs matching glasses wine etc for this...

Beautiful house, well equiped but needs matching glasses wine etc for this price. Also, when paying 4 a holiday home I don't expect to look at endless and I mean endless photos of the owners family and friends. Whilst I realise this is a privately owned home, we paid the most we've paid for a rental house in Akaroa (we've rented about 20 houses there) and it had by far the most personal photos on vertically every surface and sev walls. Oh and cud do without owners underwear etc in drawers!
