Description

  • Sunny bach ideal for relaxing or as a holiday base
  • Well equipped for serious fly fishing - small fishing groups welcome.
  • So quiet, urban setting with plenty of space for couples, kids, and the boat etc

It is our pleasure to share our family bach with you. Set up to cater for the many different desires of our family and friends, there really is ample of everything including space for the boat.

Yes, there's fly fishing themed decor, but our trout mad friends take fishing seriously so we have a dedicated prep room with good lighting, fly tying gear, guidebooks, and a filleting area, even a gas fish smoker... just BYO trout! Ngongotaha and Waiteti streams are very close by and offer great year round fishing (ensure you have a licence and check season dates for access).

For everyone else, we'll leave you to choose between wandering through french doors onto the fully fenced and expansive lawns, stepping down into the sunny private courtyard or tinkering with your holiday toys parked safely within the section. If wintery weekends are your thing or the weather doesn't co-operate, there are two heat pumps, luxurious blankets, heaps of bachy books and even a slow cooker to tempt you.

This bach glows in the sun and is cosy at night. All our beds and linen are new and very comfortable. The bach is kid friendly, so long as the kids are bach friendly? There are 2 WCs and one bathroom. Our bach is on a quiet urban street with lovely outlook, big views of Mt Ngongotaha and pleasant gardens. You'll have a real sense of space here.

Ngongotaha is an ideal choice for evening arrivals after a day in the Auckland rat race and is handy to all Rotorua's tourist attractions. From the bach, Ngongotaha village and cafe is an easy 5 min walk. We are not lakeside but a choice of boat ramps are only 2km away and it''s a short walk beyond the village to the lakefront and reserve. We're central for day trips to Rotorua's many lakes, Mt Maunganui, Tauranga, Whakatane, Ureweras and Taupo.

Rotorua gets frosty from May onwards so think warm clothes, for indoors as well as outside. Our heat pumps will help you stay cosy.

What ever you choose; have fun.

Special conditions: Dog welcome with prior approval only. Listed price per night is for 6 people.

  • Good location

Good location. Shame it takes over 4 hours to heat water, especially if you arrive in the evening.

    Owner/manager responds:

Hi Julia, I am sorry the water wasn't hot. We normally arrange to preheat it when our guests are families. I had arranged so for your visit but was let down. I'm disappointed this made your evening awkward, and hope you enjoyed the rest of the visit.

Lots of good size bedrooms, large living / dining area & good appliance & cutlery equipped kitchen. Well equipped modern appliance laundry. Plenty of seating & lounge furniture. Easy clean varnished wood floor. Sunny & nice large lawn area - fantastic for pets/dogs. Close to shops but quiet at night. Close to attractions & Rotorua cbd. Memorable stay & well worth our travel from Kapiti coast.
