The homesite and location is picture perfect, secluded, nestled atop a hill but surrounded by pastures and mountains. It is quite far from any town for grocery or other needs so do plan ahead. Lots of walking on rural roads but no hiking trails as the property is amongst other farms limiting access to more hilly tracks. The home was neat and tidy upon arrival , had some staple items in the pantry but is in need of care , minor repairs and outdoor attention.

    Owner/manager responds:

Thanks for the comments. Since your stay, the owners have spent the past month at the property working on annual maintenance care and improvements. Yes the property is located 22km from the nearest town, as described in the listing. As for for hiking/tramping...future guests please do refer to the local guidebook at the house to choose from the immense number of hiking options available in the Kahurangi National Park (15 min drive from the house) or the Abel Tasman NP (30min drive)

We had another amazing stay here, such a beautiful location and really comfortable tranquil property. Even though the weather was wet and we couldn’t swim in the motueka river due to flooding we found lots of other fun things to do like the caves at the top of takaka hill and the saltwater pools in motueka. Mike and Beth have a great place to either just chill at or base yourself from to explore the area. Thanks Mike and Beth for another great stay
