Very peaceful and quiet location right on the edge of Ohiwa Harbour close to the main channel. Fishing, shell fish, kayaking, surf beach, bush walks, sailing, kite surfing, glow worms and more all at your door step, everything you could ask for in a tranquil beach side location. Further enhanced by the ever changing moods of the tidal harbour lapping at the property boundary. Watch the bird life come and go, feeding with the changing tides.

Be prepared to be awoken by the tuis and pigeons in the Kauri and Piripiri on the front lawn.

A true kiwi bach which is comfortable and partly renovated and probably will for a while, but that adds to the character.

  • This was a beautiful spot to stay

This was a beautiful spot to stay. After the initial drama (Cyclone Cook!) the weather was stunning and many happy hours were spent by literally walking out the door of the bach and being able to kayak, swim and paddle board in the inlet. When we felt like going to the beach, it was only a short walk away. The house was a place that you felt you could totally relax in. Enjoyed walking the loop track that started just along the road from the house. The sunsets were spectacular too. Thanks!

We absolutely love Jacks Place! We went as a group of 3 families for our second year in a row. Loved it just as much the second time. Great house, plenty of room for a big group, awesome to have the estuary on your door step. Highly recommend it!

  • We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at this idyllic quiet location

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at this idyllic quiet location. Bird life and water activities of the harbour and sea made it suitable for all ages - the young to the oldies. The Bach was a pleasure to stay in with a number of added benefits. Most enjoyable and we would recommend it for the type of function we held - diamond wedding anniversary. Thanks Jack. Only one thing - a few more wine glasses perhaps - this places encourages a nice wine to be had!
