Experience fale style living for family get togethers.
We have a true camp style kitchen, fully equipped, with a large dining table to seat a dozen or more. Lots of outdoor furniture to relax in.
The beach at Whangateau is tidal but sandy and perfect for children, with crystal clear waters. It is also ideal for kayaking and other water sports. We have tennis rackets available for your use at the tennis/basketball/netball courts across the road next to the beach and the sportsfield and cricket pitch.
Activities to partake on site include darts, table tennis, cricket and whatever else you wish with large lawns to play and spread out on.
There is plenty of parking for cars and the boats which you can launch across the road in the Whangateau Harbour when the tide is in. If the tide is out you can launch the boat at Leigh (5 minutes drive away). Upon request and for a small charge we can tow your boat out by tractor to the Omaha channel at low tide.
When you bring home the fish you caught you can smoke it yourself in the large smoker on site.
NO STAG DO's or Boys Weekends Away.
The owner lives on the adjacent property but far enough away not to invade your privacy.

Fantastic venue and set up for a birthday party. Had everything we needed and everyone raved about it. Tidy and clean casual fale style buildings with good amount of cover if needed. In a handy location just a short drive to Matakana and also handy with campground across road for guests. Can highly recommend and will definitely be back!! Thanks again for a wonderful venue....
When we stumbled on this little gem we new instantly how perfect it was for our wedding. What a beautiful, private place to hold a wedding. It is very unique and the Fale and outdoor kitchen add the element of rustic meets tropical. Perfect venue for weddings, family gatherings and other events. Just be mindful of your noise levels as it is in a residential area.
The property is lovely, perfect for a wedding and very well kept. Accommodation is fun, good kitchen facilities (we hired a commercial oven to supplement theirs). Lots of nice photo spots around the property and also around the area - Big Omaha Wharf, Ti Point and Mathesons Bay in particular. Highly recommend!
A great spot but owners need to take more pride in the facilities rather than manicuring their lawn. A lovely touch of fresh flowers on arrival but other than a cleanly swept floor, the rest of the area had not been looked after in some time (layers of dust and dead insects). Loads of insects (being an outdoor venue) which is understandable but the local bee hive proved a hazard with 5 bee stings in 4 days as the hive must be directly above the kitchen.
Amusing that people would book a holiday in a fale in a bush setting and not expect bugs! Leaving lights on all night wouldn't have helped. The property is always thoroughly cleaned before new arrivals so I don’t know what she is referring to about layers of dust. Obviously being an outdoor venue it is impossible to keep it completely dust free all the time. Have never had any other complaints. Unaware of any beehive, had families with children staying right through January and no stings.
