Bach or holiday home | Waikuku Beach | #22171
This award-winning house (Master Builders 2008) is luxurious living - spacious, modern, light, sunny and warm. Its tasteful decor and amenities give you all the comforts of home with a bach/beachside feel to it.
Fabulous Waikuku beach is only 3 minutes walk away through a beautiful pine forest. The patrolled beach (summer months only) is also known for its surfing. After a swim, rinse off under the outdoor hot water shower and sink into the spa pool to warm up (kids love this!).
Walking and biking options abound - from a stroll down the beach to the Ashley River Estuary to a mountain bike ride through the forest to Woodend Beach.
Visit the popular Waipara vineyards just 15 minutes drive to the north, view the works of local artists living in the area, or try your hand at one of the local golf courses, including the new Pegasus Golf Course.
For evening relaxation, enjoy a peaceful soak in the spa pool. Watch the stars above, listen to the echo of the ocean and put the world on hold for a while!
Waikuku Beach, 30 minutes drive from Christchurch, has a carefree village atmosphere. It has a local store, tennis courts, children's paddling pool and park, and a regular bus service to and from Christchurch.

Our party of 6 stayed for 2 nights. The house is in a quiet community with limited retail or dining facilities. A spectacular beach is 200m from the house; a bird conservation area is 1 km north. The open floor plan offers separate corners to relax in, watch TV, eat and cook. The kitchen is well equipped. Disadvantages were few but included beds that were too soft, a friendly cat that exerted conjugal rights to one bedroom with no door, and a driveway occupied by the owner’s boat and car.
The house is lovely - very modern, and everything you need at hand (BBQ etc). Comfy beds, and three bathrooms was great for three couples. My only recommendation/constructive feedback would be that maybe the freezer needs to be empty next time - we needed somewhere to put ice, and the freezer was chocka with meat. It wasn't a problem, as we had a small blow up pool, which we put ice in outside, but just something to consider. Would definitely stay again and I will recommend to others :)
