Cottage | Havelock North | #22530
The Pavilion proudly shares some space on our beautiful private rural property with John's House and our own residence.
Located off the end of a no exit road in an expansive park-like garden with manicured lawns and masses of trees this is a sanctuary. A tranquil place to relax and a fantastic base from which to explore all the amazing offerings Hawke's Bay provides.
Designed by renowned architect Pete Bossley, The Pavilion, completed in 2013, is a stunning compliment to John’s House (designed by John Scott and built in 1990). The two houses offer a wonderful dynamic for extended families or groups to enjoy joint holidays when rented in tandem. However they each sit in their own space and are barely visible from each other.
If you are looking for intimate luxury in a pastoral setting, exceptional architecture, amenities and facilities all centrally located for all the best Hawke's Bay attractions this is the perfect destination. Generous breakfast provisions are provided and home grown produce is available in season.
Relax and enjoy The Pavilion or use it as a base from which to explore the wineries and restaurants, wonderful cycle trails, walks, beaches and rivers the region is renowned for. Snuggle up in warmth and style, surrounded by trees and gardens. A haven for birdlife, the property is also home to friendly farm animals.
Children and well behaved dogs are very welcome.
As your hosts we entirely respect your privacy. However as long-time Hawke's Bay residents, we enjoy sharing our space and knowledge of the region. We're happy to arrange private farm, vineyard and garden tours, make restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, organise bike hire etc.
In our experience guests - both kiwis and overseas - frequently regret that they don't spend enough time here in Hawke's Bay. The Pavilion is located in the heart of this abundant region. Wineries, beaches, rivers, golf courses, bike trails, restaurants, extraordinary scenery.

The Pavilion is very clean, compact, and modern. It is located at the end of a road, surrounded by fields, well off the path, so it's quiet. We were a party of three so Nick said it was no problem to set up a cot in the living room area and that worked perfectly. A very short walk (10 min) to Havelock North. Much better, IMO, than staying in Napier or Hastings. Overall, we were delighted with the Pavilion and would strong recommend it to others without reservation.
