Description

  • Secluded romantic country getaway but only a few minutes walk or drive to the Village
  • Expansive gardens and lawns bounding the Karamu Stream and walking/cycling path to Havelock Nth.
  • Stunning architecture and superb location. The Pavilion is an experience that calls guests back!

The Pavilion proudly shares some space on our beautiful private rural property with John's House and our own residence.

Located off the end of a no exit road in an expansive park-like garden with manicured lawns and masses of trees this is a sanctuary. A tranquil place to relax and a fantastic base from which to explore all the amazing offerings Hawke's Bay provides.

Designed by renowned architect Pete Bossley, The Pavilion, completed in 2013, is a stunning compliment to John’s House (designed by John Scott and built in 1990). The two houses offer a wonderful dynamic for extended families or groups to enjoy joint holidays when rented in tandem. However they each sit in their own space and are barely visible from each other.

If you are looking for intimate luxury in a pastoral setting, exceptional architecture, amenities and facilities all centrally located for all the best Hawke's Bay attractions this is the perfect destination. Generous breakfast provisions are provided and home grown produce is available in season.

Relax and enjoy The Pavilion or use it as a base from which to explore the wineries and restaurants, wonderful cycle trails, walks, beaches and rivers the region is renowned for. Snuggle up in warmth and style, surrounded by trees and gardens. A haven for birdlife, the property is also home to friendly farm animals.

Children and well behaved dogs are very welcome.

As your hosts we entirely respect your privacy. However as long-time Hawke's Bay residents, we enjoy sharing our space and knowledge of the region. We're happy to arrange private farm, vineyard and garden tours, make restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, organise bike hire etc.

In our experience guests - both kiwis and overseas - frequently regret that they don't spend enough time here in Hawke's Bay. The Pavilion is located in the heart of this abundant region. Wineries, beaches, rivers, golf courses, bike trails, restaurants, extraordinary scenery.

Special conditions: The Pavilion provides full disabled access and facilities. Children welcome. Pets OK with prior approval. Smoking outside only

This property was just lovely, beautiful setting with a lovely spacious lawn. The location was great and a lovely walk into town. Loved the setup and the decor and also loved that we could take our dog Luna with us, she just loved playing with Nick's dogs as well.

It was lovely and quiet and we are able to walk our dog along the stream. Great hosts and the hot bread when we arrived went down a treat. Thank you both??

  • Great hosts and very helpful

Great hosts and very helpful. What a lovely place to stay. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful surroundings - very comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights and really loved the Pavilion. Just a clever design just perfect for the two of us. Great location. Just a short stroll along the waterway to Haveloch Village. Thanks also for the lovely homemade bread, muesli and jam and fresh fruits. We can highly recommend this property. Lots to do in the area.
