Can't say enough about the relaxing family time we had at Alister's property. The view of the bay is beautiful from the main living area of the home, 2 of the bedrooms as well as the deck. Well appointed with everything you need for a vacation stay whether you cook inside or on the grill. The spa is a nice added touch for morning coffee with a view of the bay or evening soaking. The walk to Te Tii and the beach was easy, and the walk along Akeake Point Historic Reserve was a nice add-on close by. The well-stocked shed of split firewood for cool evenings was appreciated as well!
The Bach is beautifully placed. And very well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay at Opito Bay, so peaceful. Evenings in the hot tub were the highlight for us. The only slight downfalls of the Bach were the kitchen was a bit grubby and the huge drop from the back yard off of the decking, may just be worth warning to future visitors. Would love to come back again!
The home was lovely however the first room facing the deck smelt musty which I was sensitive to with my hayfever. The shower had hairs in it and the there was dirt under the couch which looked like dirt was getting swept under the couch. Other than that the home was perfect. The spa was great and it was so quiet and peaceful. We didn't spot any kiwis but we would definitely hire this place again with the hope the musty smell is dealt with. The contact person was very helpful when we had to call them about the spa pool. Overall it was a slice of heaven tucked away. Thanks for giving us a peaceful weekend we were looking forward to.
We have had a wonderful couple of days here and our only regret is that we aren't staying longer. The view is just fantastic I could never get sick of it. This Bach has everything you need and with the spa pool as well you can't go wrong. Relaxing in the spa at night and star gazing it was just so peaceful I can highly recommend it. The short walk down to the beach was very managable and at low tide the kids and adults alike were able to walk around the rocks for a long way. Great fun and exploring was had. It's proximity to Kerikeri is close enough (approx 20mins ) to be handy but far enough away that you get to enjoy the peace and quiet. I cannot say enough good things about our stay here, we have all really loved it and I will definitely be back again.
We loved staying here at Opito Palms. The views were breath taking, the spa was relaxing, the house was well equip with everything you would use at home. The only thing I would bring is a heater for the kids room during winter. Great for my two year old who enjoyed all the toys and books. The only negative I did have was the cleanliness of the shower was a bit gross but that was soon solved with some jiff. We had fun heading around the area in our 4wd up the white sandy beaches and too finish it off with a burger and a beer in Keri Keri. Good location and reasonably close to most attractions. I would recommend this place to all ages. Thanks Alister!
