This fabulous family bach is a comfortable 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house with a well equipped kitchen and a laid-back, retro vibe.

The separate sleep-out is a garage conversion with a bathroom and storage/rumpus area downstairs, and six single beds upstairs. The stairs are relatively steep and the sleepout is ideal for older children and teens.

The bach has electric blankets for the queen and double beds, extra blankets and a woodburner for warm winter getaways too.

Bach has wifi. Cell phone coverage is excellent at the beach and patchy within the bach although ok for newer phones and in the northern upstairs bedroom.

Guests need to bring own towels and bed linen, however linen may be provided to overseas guests by arrangement. Duvets, kitchen cloths, teatowels, bathmats, laundry powder and some toilet paper are provided. Guests are also welcome to use pantry essentials.

Waipu Cove is the place to be for a relaxed holiday. There are few baches available on the beach side of Cove Rd, but this is one of them. A safe 100m stroll to the beach through the DOC campground (stop and play on the playgrounds) or through the reserve. Extending kilometers to Whangarei Heads, the white sands of the surf beach are safe for swimming and surfing and keep surfcasters busy.

Stroll to the humming Waipu Cove dairy for an ice-cream or fish & chips, or to the Cove Cafe for Supreme coffee, bistro dining or a takeout pizza. Drive into nearby Waipu township for pizza and ribs at the famous Pizza Barn and pick up a coffee at The Container and potter through the antique stores and Black Barn design store. Meals at the Razza highly recommended! The caves and waterfall swimming hole also a short drive. Then head back to the bach for a bbq in the sheltered back garden.

  • I love this bach

I love this bach. This is my second stay there and I would happily go back. It's spacious and homely, a very easy place to have a largish group. And the location is great - a few minutes walk to the beach. I would highly recommend Beauty on the Beach to anyone, and especially to families.

Loved this property. Great location to beach and had everything you could want/need, with kids. Basketball hoop very popular and a great large lawn. Was great that this is a true 70s bach
