Description

  • Close to Waikawa and Picton for ease of travel, supplies and for activities and resturants
  • Children friendly, safe beach for swimming, bush to explore, large green for backyard cricket
  • Bach is right on the beach.

The Brick House, Sunshine Bay is a classic kiwi bach, pack up the kids and come and play backyard cricket, explore the bush, hunt for catseye shells on the beach, or snuggle around the log burner in winter and play card games, or monopoly.

With the beach only metres from the deck you can sit back and relax while keeping an eye on the kids as they play on the beach or in the water.

Behind the house the regenerating native bush extends up the hill, with endless places to build huts, hunt for eels in the creek and explore, the family will be busy all day.

A stay in summer brings bright, long, hot days, while a stay in winter will often treat you to clear days with water as still as glass.

Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside only. Up to two additional guests with prior approval only - additional charges will apply. Dogs allowed with prior approval.

Perfect location in a bay owned by the family with only a few other family baches. Such an idyllic reminder of bach holidays as a kid in a beautiful spot.

Having stayed in many baches over the years this is one of the best examples of an original kiwi bach you will find! The location can't be beaten - We had a bit of bad weather so made the quick drive into Picton to go to Shipwrecks etc but there are also so many books and boardgames at the bach that my 2 young children were never bored! Was slightly less private than I anticipated with other homes right beside, but still amazing value and will be back! Saw dolphins twice from my bed! Fab place!

  • We had the holiday of a lifetime staying at the brickhouse

We had the holiday of a lifetime staying at the brickhouse. It was our base to explore the Sounds and a welcome refuge at the end of long days out on the boat. We had our own mooring right outside the door and could easily beach the boat to pick up and drop off passengers. We opted to launch and recover the boat from nearby Waikawa which made the process stress free. Depending on the size of the boat you could beach launch from the address itself. The bach is a full size house and has it all. A+

Was great to stay back at the batch after spending so many summer days down there in my youth. Our kids loved walking along the beach collecting shells and stones.
