The apartment belongs to an older family friend and is the bottom floor. There is a dwelling on top. The top floor has a single female tenant who goes home to Napier at the weekends. When she is there she is very quite & non intrusive.

  • Lovely spot by the lake and the flat was nicely set up

Lovely spot by the lake and the flat was nicely set up. It did smell a bit musty upon arrival but with a bit of airing that went. Pity the view of the lake is partly obscured by the big bush in front. It sounds like a negative review but overall we enjoyed our visit

    Owner/manager responds:

Glad you enjoyed your stay. It had been raining for 8 days prior to your arrival so we are sorry it was a bit musty. We had done everything we could to air prior to your arrival. Unfortunately the bush out front is owned by the council so it is what it is.

  • This property is ideal for a weekend by the lake

This property is ideal for a weekend by the lake. I would not recommend it for longer stays. The outside and garden needed tidying up and the sound insulation between the ground floor and the first floor was poor. The first floor resident was quiet and considerate - but any movement caused loud creaking of the timber joists.

    Owner/manager responds:

Thank you for your feedback Paul. Yes the grounds are in need of a tidy up. Unfortunately my cleaning / gardening angel had a bereavement in the family 2 weeks ago & I've been away so the driveway is being swept & lawns mown this week. The comment about the creaking joists is interesting, this is the first ever, in 4 years. Perhaps things have shifted with earthquakes etc, we will look into it, thanks again.
