Description

  • Private Beach on a 64 hectare coastal estate.
  • Pets are welcome all year and stay in the accommodation with you.
  • Kayaks, life jackets and dingy complimentary for guests. Also a 1.5 tonne mooring.

Wairoro Part is a unique holiday experience with absolute private beachfront, native bush walks through Kiwi habitat, on a 64 acre coastal estate near Russell Bay of Islands. At Wairoro Park you'll enjoy luxurious holiday home accommodation at an affordable rate, in a peaceful and tranquil location. Thanks to our extensive grounds and the fact that we own the beach dogs are allowed off leash provided they are under their owners control and in their sight. Take a step back in time to 1970 for a real New Zealand holiday atmosphere and relaxed hospitality.

We have a large sloping lawn and flat grassed area above the beach for families to play and relax. On the beachfront there are a number of sun loungers and beach chairs. We have kayaks, a dingy, 1.5 tonne mooring, lifejackets, table tennis, books and games available for guest use.

The Russell to Okiato walk crosses the rear of the property running through regenerating Kiwi habitat. Wairoro Park has placed Approximately 1/3 of the property into QE2 trust, to protect this valuable habitat for perpetuity. Around the Chalet you may be lucky enough to hear Kiwi night and see Weka during the day.

The accommodation: Our A-frame chalet offers sea and beach views. Upstairs there is one double bedroom with a king sized bed. The second bedroom has two king singles and a third fold out single suitable for a child. It is possible to make up a double bed in the downstairs lounge from a fold out sofa to accommodate two additional persons if required. There is a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge and dining area. A full bathroom including separate shower and spa bath. There is a covered deck with a BBQ and deck furniture. We supply towels and linen.

Wairoro Park has been owned by the Boerop family since 1971, with Beryl now retired and living on the property and happy to answer and questions.

We are able to accommodate larger groups by arrangement.

Special conditions: You are welcome to bring your dog. Your dog must be safe with children and other pets. Your dog needs to be kept in your sight and control at all times. You must clean up after you dog and not allow them to foul the beach or grounds.

  • Wairoro Park is a lovely setting amongst the bush

Wairoro Park is a lovely setting amongst the bush. Only a short distance from the Russell Car Ferry. We heard Kiwi and many other birds. The house was warm and comfortable with good amenities. Beds comfortable. Only downside was the lack of internet. Did manage some access for important things with mobile hotspot, phone coverage was good. Short drive into Russell. Just a note that the car ferry is $12.50 each way so an extra expense, but much better than the long way around and dirt road

  • We loved the house

We loved the house. The view across the grounds to the beach was lovely and our dog was so happy to be able to move around freely. The facilities at the beach were just what we wanted and added to our break. The house had a lovely deck where we spent a lot of time enjoying the view and the fresh air. We'll be back, for certain.

The little cabin we had was AMAZING!! :) :) beautiful views and everything was provided!! People were friendly and the environment was relaxing and soooooo enjoyable!! We tried to stay longer but it was booked out ! We definitely would like to return. Both my partner and I absolutely loved it there - and so did the rest of our family!
