The bunk rooms are not viable for young children to stay in as they are located off the main house plus they were damp and smelly so we could not use this space. The view of the ocean could be improved by removing the old crab apple tree and some other trees on the property boundary. Would expect to have sky TV for this price not free view. Our daughter become sick which our doctor suspects from the tank water. We also have all been bitten which we suspect are bed bugs not mossy bites.
We do list the bunk room as "accessed externally off the front deck" with images so guests can choose if the space is ok for friends/family. The trees are well tended and meant for privacy but will advise the gardener they may need pruning. The water at the house is bore water.. There has been an outbreak of jellyfish/sea lice at Oneroa beach around the storm and I expect this caused your bites. There are definitely no bed bugs at the house and was checked yesterday to confirm.
This is a beautiful place to stay with plenty of space for 2 couples. The views are stunning, the furniture is comfortable and everything is a high standard. It is in a great location with an easy walk to Oneroa shops. The only negative is the lower bunk room smelt a bit musty, but my daughter said the bed was very comfortable and she left the window open to freshen the room.
