Cottage | Pelorus Sound | #24314
WE ARE BOAT ACESS ONLY.
Our power is generated.
The house is fully set up with gas cooking facilities, and water powered lights (except during dry spells) and we run a generator twice a day, for lighting, washing machine etc...
We are a working farm, and times when we are mustering sheep, shearing etc...anyone is welcome to join in with this.
Although we are only boat access, it is only 45 minutes by boat to Havelock.
We also live on the farm (with our 2 children,) and even though we don't cart people, we have our own launch, so people are not just ' stuck in the middle of nowhere' and also have limited cell phone coverage.
Beautiful, modern, framos house, sectioned off, with its own garden, overlooking the sea.
This properties most beautiful asset is its remoteness, due to being only boat access.
We are a 5th generation farming family, with 1700 acres of land for you to explore.
There is a lot of native bush, home to many native birds.
Our farm walk does a complete circuit around the property, which is a large peninsular. This track is also suitable for mountain biking (bikes not included).
This property is full of history.
This property is used as a stop-off point for kayaking groups, and hosts fishing parties throughout the year.
Access to the most beautiful scenery in the Pelorus .
Malboat fares available on Tuesdays and Thursdays (pre booking recommended) $40 per person one way.
You need to book your own water taxi out (or you can use the floatplane for something a little different!)
The water taxis leave from Havelock, and can be found on the internet.
Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside only. At times generator hours may change, e.g. if we are shearing. This doesn't affect cooking, as it is all gas.

Fraemoh house is warm and comfortable. Set amidst some native bush with resident wekas and some native birds, not to mention the friendly goats. Plan around the times when the generator powers electricity in the summer time, but this is really not a problem as it is on in the morning and evening. If you are looking for a total rest and peace and quiet this is the place for you.
The farm was in a beautiful spot in the Pelorus sound with great access to fishing nearby, and tramping. It is also quite historical, as it started up as a sheep farm in the sounds back in 1881. We got to see life on the farm, and fed the animals. The family/owners were very welcoming, and accommodating. We also enjoyed walking, and swimming. We would highly recommend a stay here, and it is the perfect opportunity to experience a real kiwi farm at the same time.
