pros: lovely unit with views of the harbour from the kitchen and glimpses from the balcony, great balcony, large unit with a lovely homely feel, 5 mins walk from the wharf [best fish and chips ever!] Cons: unit is on top of a rented unit which is untidy to look at and unfortunately the main bedroom is directly above their living/outdoor area so can be a little noisey, but they didn't go past midnight, so did not really concern us; swimming beach 10 min walk
It is not near a beach, but has glimpses of the harbour. The rental is on the first floor and is large, well-appointed and comfortable. However, there is a ground floor suite which looks untidy and off-putting from outside, and no proper path to access the upstairs (you have to walk around the house to stairs). The tenant was friendly, but had guests over both nights and they were noisy until 2 am. We felt this situation needed improving for the house to be rented at $300/night.
Unfortunately Brunswick house was not up to the usual bookabach standard. The house smelled of smoke when we arrived, wasn't very clean and there was animal faeces beside the path leading to the property. The property manager did agree to a full refund when we contacted her but due to our arrival being late on a friday afternoon, and with small children tired after a long journey we were not able to contact other bookabach owners quickly enough to find a replacement property.
This guest arrived approx 4pm - contacted me to say that they could smell smoke and complained about the person downstairs smoking outside. Told me that they will not stay and will be going somewhere else. I offered an immediate full refund. Received a txt nearly 2 hours later to say that they would have to stay as they couldn't find anything else - although there were 28 listings on this site showing availability. The other issues were only mentioned after their stay.
