The shearers quarters are a little rough, but have some charm. Bedrooms are very crammed. Good quality linen and towels provided. Kitchen is well equipped. There is a very large dining table. Good bathroom / shower facilities. Living space is small when it is booked to capacity.

The Shearer’s Quarters is a great place to stay, especially for large groups. We stayed for Toast Martinborough and organised a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off as it is about 15min out of Martinborough. The property is extremely well set up and has many thoughtful things provided - small details like shower gel and instant coffee are extremely appreciated!! Open fire also awesome. Towels and bed linen are included so all you do is turn up. Would definitely recommend staying here.

While we went on a cold wet winter weekend, the heaters and electric blankets all worked and there was plenty of firewood for the fire. Fabulous.

  • It is a basic property but very well maintained and tidy

It is a basic property but very well maintained and tidy. All the basics were supplied right down to linen, coffee, tea, sugar and oil. The kitchen has everything you need and the rooms are comfortable - there are even electric blankets. The toilet and shower block is right next to the shearers quarters so it really isn't a big deal. This sunny spot is very scenic, at the foot of a range of hills, with a very nice river running next to the property.
