Bach or holiday home | Ostend | #24540
Our home is ten years old, with a modern kitchen, double door fridge, gas cooker and dishwasher. The layout is open plan, with a dining table seating eight and opening onto a large deck with an outdoor bath, barbecue and views over inland water and pristine bush.
Its central location means that it is walking distance to Palm Beach (20 minutes), a balmy and popular northern beach of the island. This beach provides a convenience store, a large playground, beach barbecues, two fabulous art galleries and an excellent fish and chip shop.
Ostend village is also a five minute walk across a lovely wetland/mangrove walkway where you will find the well known Saturday morning markets, takeaways, a liquor barn, the popular Italian bakery Francos, gift shops, cafes and Waiheke's new supermarket.
Surfdale village is a 30 minute walk away which boasts the popular Italian pizzeria, Stefanos.
The bush setting provides privacy and bird life. The site's western boundary abuts a wetland and an inlet over which the house is orientated.
The house is two storeyed, allowing covered parking and a driveway area for parking a boat. We have SKY TV and WiFi.
As we have a young family, there will be selected toys for the kids (both indoor and outdoor).
This much loved house is warm, sunny and private with charm and character. The prices are reduced to reflect the need for our beloved cat, Zammy, to be looked after by caring people. All cat food will be provided.
Special conditions: Smoking allowed outside Cat to be fed daily Water conservation is necessary during the summer period.

A lovely house, loved the outdoor area, and nice kitchen setting. The linen set up could be better, each child had a sheet on and then 2 sheets surrounding the duvets which just came apart. Also our bed had a stain on the cover which looked a bit yick.
We were very surprised when reading about the linen set up. Every year we purchase new white duvets for the summer period when we vacate the house and when we left the house each bed had a new duvet set. All other linen and towels are hired and changed professionally in-between each set of guests. We returned to find all our new duvet sets were missing which left us shocked and very disappointed for Melissa and her guests. We will ensure this does not happen again.
Couldn't be happier with our stay at the property. Really homely - the Christmas tree was still up which we were thrilled with! The deck area in particular was great; surrounded by trees and birdsong. All the amenities you would expect and more. Would recommend highly!!
This place is amazing! Great private location in amongst the trees. The deck is perfect for bbq's and gets all day sun with a great view over the estuary. House is fully equipped with everything you need. Would love to come again and highly recommend.
Lovely big, tiday and clean house, very reasonably priced. Located on a quiet street, surrounded by trees, very private. It has a large deck which is the perfect place to catch the morning sun, drink some coffee and listen to birdsong. Sky sports is an added bonus. You will probably need a car if you are staying here. The house is not a bach as such, appears to be their house, which they vacate. This didn't bother us, but be prepared to stay somewhere more homely than your average accomodation.
