Everything at La Grange is exactly as described! It is so well set up and self-contained - the perfect example of how to do an eco-bach. Don't expect it to be a hotel but as an eco-bach has everything that an eco-bach should have - plus more!

The property is beautiful and I wish we'd had more time to spend there. It was a great addition to our honeymoon trip. The property is very private and the surrounding area has many activities to explore. Terry is a fun host and is clearly an active member of his community. We'd stay here again!

  • The location is perfect, having fabulous views but also privacy

The location is perfect, having fabulous views but also privacy. We loved the fact that it runs only on solar power and gas but still has everything you need. The outside bath was awesome too! As was the fire pit and the kayaks. We'll definitely be back!

  • Loved this place! What are perfect spot

Loved this place! What are perfect spot. I specifically loved all the small details and effort Terry has clearly put into making the place awesome. Birds are so tame in this area and the view spectacular! I highly recommend a stay here!!!!! You will definitely need a 4 wheel drive to access this place, but it is well worth it! We had a great time!

    Owner/manager responds:

Hiya Susie Thanks for the praise!- I sure love to share the space with guests; Whangaroa itself is very very special! Yes, I was embarrassed by the state of the road; we only got up the hill with Tim driving and me in the passenger seat shouting Geronimo! I said the roading guy had been to fix it from its previous state, and that he had laid too much metal down on it, like 'lithic sludge'. I said to you I would get back to him; and true to my word I did. He came, saw, fixed it; now all OK!!!
