Farmstay | Wairoa District | #25018
The farm has been in the family for 100 years and we are the the 4th generation to farm Tuahu. It is a 3500 acre property with beautiful views and a wonderful river running through the front of the property which is enjoyed by many travellers. The Ruakituri River is known to be one of the best trout fishing rivers in the southern hemisphere which has some very good access points to drive to and spend your day. We farm both sheep and beef and most of the work is done on 4 wheeler bikes and horses with sheep dogs. You will find a pet calves/sheep/horses/dogs/goats/turkeys on the farm during your stay and some are seasonal pets. Lake Waikaremoana Mahia and Gisborne Beaches are a great day trip to visit from us. We have the Te Reinga Falls and the Waitangi Falls all accessible from Tuahu. Come and see for yourself a typical New Zealand outback farm

This property and the area has great history which can be read in the books etc that are in the house for all to see.. It is a pleasure to stand back and look at all the pieces displayed. Watching Mandy ride her horses and care for them was a delight for a Townie like me and to see John drive by with all the dogs made it a real farm experiece. It would be geat for children.
Property is outstanding with long family history and personal touches through the rooms. It is well cared for and housekeeping is outstanding. The location is very handy to fishing, swimming etc. Its a working farm so we were able to sit back and watch the sheep, cattle and horses up close. Thoroughly recommend it. We have already made another reservation.
