Bach or holiday home | Otaki Beach | #25119
Turn your head to see the mountains and back to see the sea! The kitchen is open and utterly rustic. Sadly, this is not a 'toddler friendly' house. Every seat has a view.
This eco home is especially wired up to eliminate magnetic spillage. Sleep like you’ve never slept before!
Upstairs the walls are lined with knotty ply. The big open space is warm, loving and filled with art. Put on some music, fold the glass bi-fold wall away to experience the sunset on the swing seat in the ‘indoor veranda‘. Turn on the foot massager and slip into bliss.
The kitchen table sits on a paint strewn floor as this is Olinka’s ‘winter studio’. Perfect for games, this house is home to the ‘boardgame King’ – help yourself!
Rustic and beautiful, Taniwha house is one of warmth, spaciousness and views. It is a quite, private home set beside a little road out front with the sea at its feet. There is a dingy, some boogie boards and skim boards, the swimming is fantastic – or fish down at the river mouth and catch your own dinner - seriously!
There is a young children’s toy cupboard and loads of books, vidios and DVDs. Downstairs, television can be found in the main guest bedroom.
There are four bed rooms. The master room hosts a king mattress and spectacular views of Kapiti Island across the foreshore, a couch and the tele. Each room has its own external access and sea view.
In addition, there are 4 single and 1 queen mattress.
The house has a funky outdoor hot shower for when you come in from the sea, and a spacious ‘wet walled’ double headed shower room inside which is comfortable for two or more, and a spa bath with showers.
Otaki is a high sunshine area surrounded by spectacular eateries. ‘The Wine Makers Daughter ‘‘The Red Shed’ and ‘Curry town’ to name but three of the best.
The spectacular Tararua mountains are a 20 minute drive away for day walks. ENJOY!

Taniwha house expresses a lot of the colourful and vibrant character of its owners - is well appointed and has lots of space - beds and living - ideal for us and our extended family. It's location is perfect - directly opposite a quiet stretch of Otaki beach and a short walk to the Otaki estuary and wetlands. We had a lovely time there - its a perfect spot to relax.
We had our parents 40th wedding anniversary here with 30 people attending, there was loads of space. Nothing was too much for Olinka in ensuring that all our needs were met. I would hightly recommend staying at Te Whare Taniwha it's welcoming, relaxing and calming energy was the perfect setting over the Labour Weekend and very children friendly.
