Wow! This must be one of the prettiest locations in the area. From inside the bach (and out on the deck) you look down on bush and then to the water. It's like your hovering over the water and then the rest of the view is looking out over and along the the length of Whatuwhiwhi Bay! It took my breath away when we first walked inside the bach. Great place to relax and enjoy the view, and handy to other attractons if you want to explore!
The view is amazing. The bach is far from new, but we liked it, it has got a lot of character - and you feel that the owners like it. The only downside is parking: a narrow driveway: on the way out, you have to pass a school bus while driving backwards. Karikari Peninsula is a bit off the beaten path, but the absence of crowds is what makes it so special. Beautiful beaches (especially Matai and Rangiputa), but you definitely need a car to explore the Peninsula.
