Bush & river reserves close to town, and spacious, sandy beaches are only a short drive away. Spot rare birds at Manawatu Estuary, visit the native owl sanctuary, or enjoy feeding the various waterbirds that make Levin's Lake Horowhenua their home. Walk through the nikau forest at nearby Lake Papaitoanga or enjoy a round of golf, or cycling our flat roads, or mountain bike tracks.

If you're in an 'in town' mood, try Levin's 'Op shop' and Factory shop' trails for super bargains, visit 'RJ's Liquorice' factory, and enjoy an organic wine at the Celtic Winery & Yeoman Brewery. Catch a movie at the local cinema, or watch one of the DVD's provided in the Bach. Take a dip & spa at the aquatic centre, or enjoy Te Takere, Levin's new library & cultural centre. Pop up to Foxton to see the Dutch Windmill, the Flax Gift Gallery, (contemporary art & designer gifts), Maori Arts space, small Flax Stripper Museum and Museum of Audio-Visual Technology.

Experience some of the colourful rural events often hosted in the area: AP&I Show (Agricultural, Pastoral & Industrial), Beach Carnivals, Ye Olde Medieval Market, Organic River Fest, Vintage Car Meets, Foxton's Spring Fling and Easter Fest, and Great Forest Events' NZ's #1 Off-Road Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5km run/walk, and wow at the Otaki Kite Fest.

After all that, retire to this relaxing cottage for a quiet dinner. Fresh herbs & veges in season available to include in your meal. Sleep like a log in the comfy new bed, then try the great breakfast menu at Whispers Cafe - (open daily from 7am), or make a smoothie in the cottage kitchen blender, before you head out, refreshed and feeling wonderful!

Cheers!
