Fairlie is a great place for a skiing holiday- local ski fields and you are in a real town, with great people, services and facilities. The Old Forge is good for families and those that are happy to sort themselves out. The shops are close, free wifi at some and plenty of eating places, petrol stations, a ski sales and rental. We loved living in the kitchen with the fire heating us up and then zooming off to the electric blankets in the beds. Always very clean, plenty of fire wood.
A beautiful characterful house with lots of original features and more than enough space for our family of 4. We managed to stay warm and cosy due to the various methods of heating provided, kitchen was well stocked and the shower was excellent. Farlie was lovely we enjoyed stocking up a the bakery then going off to explore the beautiful surroundings.
The House had lots of character and the rooms were very spacious for my daughter to run around. To live in a house with sheeps at the back was really nice. maybe a stand alone oil heater in both the bedrooms would have made our stay a bit more warmer. Overall the stay was excellent.
The house is a great location, plenty of space, has some quirky decor that reminded me of my childhood and great value for a family stay. It's not a property that would suit someone who was extremely fastidious (or has problems with dust) - this is an old house.
